More Research to Impact Briefs to Come
Building on Missed Opportunities: Youth Homelessness in America, Chapin Hall and Voices of Youth Count will next turn our attention to deepening knowledge and understanding of the key findings from the national survey.
For instance, while the national survey found that youth homelessness affects rural youth at similar levels as youth in urban and suburban areas, Voices of Youth Count plans to draw from in-depth interviews with young people in rural communities to understand their unique experiences.
The national survey revealed that some youth are at greater risk of experiencing homelessness, including LGBT youth and pregnant and parenting youth among other subgroups. Voices of Youth Count will dedicate individual reports with policy and practice recommendations on these topics.
Over the course of late 2017 and through June 2018, Voices of Youth Count will develop and publish Research to Impact briefs on topics including:
- Youth Count Lessons
- Rural Youth Homelessness
- Evidence on Programs and Practices
- Pregnant or Parenting Youth Homelessness
- LGBT Youth and Homelessness
- Youth Trajectories into Homelessness
- Youth Homelessness & Child Welfare
- Education and Youth Homelessness
Look for these on the Voices of Youth Count website and in newsletters to come!
